Dental X-Ray

Dental X-rays are a fundamental and essential step in planning almost all types of dental treatments. The main purpose of X-rays is to evaluate oral health and identify potential problems, including:

  • Tooth decay

  • Condition of the tooth roots

  • Bone loss or damage supporting the teeth

  • Tooth alignment within the jawbone

  • Gum health and periodontal disease

This information is crucial for dentists to develop the most appropriate and effective treatment plan for each patient.

Dental X-rays come in various types, depending on the area being examined or treated, including:

  • Periapical X-ray – Used to examine individual teeth and the surrounding supporting bone.

  • Panoramic X-ray – Provides a broad view of the teeth, jawbones, sinuses, and jaw joints.

  • Digital CBCT (Cone Beam CT Scan)  Produces a three-dimensional image of the oral structures and is especially useful for planning complex treatments such as dental implants and wisdom tooth surgery.
